Every October, artists all around the
world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day for
the entire month.
Last night, Assemblage had gathered over 50 artists with over 2000 drawings and had launched
their showcase of Jozi creatives with their ink representation of the global
Inktober campaign.
This was the first evening of the exhibition and this will continue for the
whole weekend from today until Sunday.

For those that love to
get into art yet don’t feel educated enough to have an opinion on a creative
piece, but would love to strive to art connoisseur levels, these events are a
great platform and inadvertently an informal way of learning from various
creatives and engaging with artists face to face.
It will take a few
discussions to get past the jargon of artspeak but the rewards of expanding the
perspective of how inspirational triggers enable one to focus on creativity day
after day for an entire duration of a month. It’s a wonderful platform to discuss conceptual outlets and themes as well
as unique styles and themes.
What is Art?
"Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. There are various branches of creativity such as music, painting, literature and dance."
Well Done to the Assemblage team that arranged such a spectacular exhibition!
From the wines, to the music (yes they had a DJ) and ofcourse the creativity in the space was bursting with talent...
